over the years, I have had some cheap ones, like black and decker. Now I have a Bunn. I have never had the problem you speak of, except maybe if I add another scoop to existing grounds to make more. Even then, that just results in some grounds in the pot, not overflowing the filter basket. I use regular community coffee and any cheap package of filters I can find. What quantity of grounds are you putting in there?

Only time we’ve had that happen is if the pot isn’t set right so the “dont drip” plug at the bottom of the filter holder is closed. Otherwise never been an issue.

Your “dome” on the decanter is probably not pushing the basket check valve upwards enough to have proper flow.

Replacement decanters have several of different heights.

the OT answer - don't buy preground coffee off the shelf. everyone has the time to grind their own.
It takes like 10 seconds

It’s not pretty to be in your home kitchen but it works. Fact.

You cant put espresso (fine ground) grains in a drip pot. I doesnt allow the water to drain slow enough and the grains are to light and float. Only way to do it, or the way i do it is with a Moka pot. No grains in coffee.

Med grains only in a drip pot. It isnt a manufacturer defect, it is a user problem
