Tigers are going extinct. There are more Tigers in Texas than the wild.

We have a world class facility

We are using tigers bred in captivity. Mike VI was from a rescue facility

We provide elite care

We raise awareness and money for the survival of the tiger species

Is that enough, or should I keep going?

Instead of just throwing blanket statements, what actual reasons do you have for keeping this tradition?

A) Because we want to keep it since it is a tradition

B) Because at WORST we're improving the conditions of a tiger that is already in captivity. I don't know if that message is clear enough - LSU will make life better for a tiger, not worse.

I've seen Mike VI many, many times and one thing he has never looked is stressed

He's a Tiger. Does Tiger stuff.

He just does it in a massive habitat with a swimming area, water feature, climbing wall, trees, grass, toys, and food. He even has an air conditioned indoor area when the weather is bad, and gets better health care than most Americans get with Obamacare.

just wish PETA would pick better fights. They, along with the government, are perfectly fine with wind farms killing bald eagles, as long as they kill less than a certain amount per year. Maybe if having Mike in a cage that created green energy some how, would make them lay off LSU.

Maybe you should take your advice and make better arguments too

I'm 100% behind LSU getting a new tiger and I'm 100% against that tiger at the Truck Stop. Maybe LSU can adopt him.

You are an idiot.

i hope they do come protest.

gonna get some piss balloons ready for em

Just toss the protestors into Mikes enclosure. That will save money (that LSU does not have) feeding him.

Seriously, I think yall having Mike is great and his home is awesome. Now if the REC would get us an elephant.

He's treated by the LSU vet school. Because of having a live tiger on campus the vet school has become a very prestigious institution when it come to learning to treat big cats. You could say Mike has led to an increase in the quality of life of Tigers (captive and wild), lions etc worldwide.
