He probably lives in a nice master planned community that endorses a citizen safety organization which works hand in hand with local law enforcement. They are becoming quite common.

Fireworks aren't inherently trashy, but trashy people love them some fireworks. It's like the highlight of their year. We're talking about people who park along the highway and get out of the car with their kids to watch fireworks. Staring at them like they're looking into the face of God.
