The best open wheeled woman driver on the planet wouldn’t sniff any podium in F1. 2 dominant Mercs, Ferrari, Red Bull constantly fighting for podiums.
And using Danica Patrick as an example doesn’t really help the cause if they are trying to project a successful woman driver...

Danica takes a lot of crap but had a fairly successful career compared to the VAST majority of men that drove in the same series as she did.
F1 has the most short term physical requirements given its G-forces and brake pedal. It is likely a woman will break into F1 one day but she will have to have not only top driving skills but also be near a world class athlete.
However, make no mistake thinking F1 is a pure meritocracy. The number of pay drivers in the back half of the field makes it clear it is not.
Much of the OT would love former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone who quipped about Danica:
"You know, I've got one of these wonderful ideas that women should all be dressed in white like all the other domestic appliances."

1976 Indy 500. She never had great cars, but when she got in Foyt's backup car she would've qualified.
