Wow, I never knew that. Takes a lot of bite out of the test. I just looked it up. Is 28 minutes accurate for the 3 mile run? If so, .
That's the minimum, but most run it in around twenty minutes or so. If you're applying for OCS you need to get it down to 18 minutes.

Three, but I've never seen anyone score that low. You'll get hell for doing less than ten.

What's OCS?

225 should be the minimum passing score. Anything less than that is fricking laughable by any standard.
OCS=Officer Candidate School
OCS=Officer Candidate School

Officer Candidate School.
There's no reason to expect anything less. Everyone should be scoring a first class PFT. It's not hard.

That seems to be on the opposite extreme. Three six minute miles in a row?

It's not required to get in but to be competitive you need to be below 20 min before you show up. Lt.s coming out OCS are fricking studs.

It's hard to get an OCS slot these days. You have to be stud to even get consideration. The NROTC kids have it easy by comparison.

I'm not up to date on OCS requirements. I'll defer. But WMs suck and I just came in this thread to talk shite about them.

20 mins for what? Did you mean 30?

On the 3 mile run. You need to be in really good shape to even show up at OCS or you'll get left in the dust.
Posted on 1/5/14 at 12:05 am to GeauxxxTigers23
OCS is hard enough as it is. If you aren't in shape, you won't make it.

You're not suggesting that you have to have a 20 min time on a three mile run are you?

That's exactly what I'm suggesting. The PFT run score is graduated from 18min to 28 min. 18 mins is a perfect score of 100. Every 10 sec after that you lose a point. So if you ran a 28:00 on the 3 mile run you would receive a score of 40 points for the run portion of the PFT.
Each pullup or chin up is worth 5 points. 3 is the minimum. 20 is the max.
The crunches portion of the test is 2 min of max crunches. Each crunch is worth 1 point for a max of 100.
18 min run= 100 points
20 pullups = 100 points
100 crunches = 100 points
A score of 225 or higher is considered a 1st class score. I don't know what 2nd class or failing scores are because anything lower than 1st class and you're a huge pussy.
