Sharona and I were both 17 in 1979 when that song came out. Sharona will be 60 this year.

Times were sure different then...nobody blinked an eye at a song about a 16 or 17 year old being sung by a 25-30 year old! I even had friends when I was that age dating guys in their 20s. It was super common. Or maybe that's just because I was in the middle of nowhere in Louisiana.
