That's pretty sad.

Someone gets 33% of their total income back in a credit?
That's just EITC. Add another $2k per kid for the child tax credit, which is a "refundable" credit also.

Pay your damn student loans. With the income-based repayment options, you don't really have an excuse. shite, for the couple of years I was out of school I paid $0 because I wasn't making enough to even need to pay them but was still in good standing. Now that I'm making quite a bit more, they've gone up to $250 a month. While I'd be more than happy to take it, I think the push to wipe out student loan debt is dumb when there are flexible options available.
That being said, I'm also not going to celebrate the government taking $3000 that they're going to buy a gold-plated coffee cup with from somebody so I can join in a circle jerk about "omg, liberals AM I RITE!?". It sucks for her and hopefully she learned a lesson to get her shite taken care of and, at the very least, in a deferment/forbearance status so that her and (specifically) her daughter doesn't have to worry about this in the future.

She and her 11-year-old daughter, Ophelia, have been homeless over the last few months in Portland, Ore.
Just wait until her attention whoring leads to her kid being taken away.
Don't be shocked when the entity you owe money to keeps what you give them.
