The surrounding area declined. The neighborhood itself is still fine for the most part.

It seems that its perception has actually improved over the past few years. Or am I imagining that?

Anyone say the Egg Roll King? Now it's a used tire shop. So sad.

My mom never let us eat there, so when she went out of town we always ate there

Hidden gem behind it, there was a shopping center that had a paintball and air soft supply store, bought my 98 Tipman from there

That’s the Gulf Valve team. Played them a few years back in day. We lost a three game championship series to them 2-1. Their coach said I could play for them any day. It was high compliment in my book.

Knew the owners very well. Used to wash their trucks and clean the shop for extra cash, back in college. Spent most of my time at the race shop, next door. They were very successful in racing dirt track late models. Good people.

What about the white house on Sherwood and Old Hammond? Flat roof. I lived in it with an ex for awhile. Adjacent to the golf course. Weird house.

Is there anyone named Doug Guillaume up on here? Douche played at Central and Belaire back in the day. Used to hit people in batting practice.

Belaire had the best baseball field in the city back in the day.

Egg Roll King’s sesame chicken was the best in the business. Always drove through. Stopped in once and the spiders scared me away.
