So, since TigerDave got a pair of DC's unwashed worn panties and other gifts, he was actually breaking the Stolen Valor act?

He did technically benefit. He was bought drinks at Brightside by OT posters, received baked goods and panties from DC, and who knows what else .. He did steal valor .. Remember the wimpish way he went out ?

OK, rebeloke.

I give up because you will never grasp what everyone is trying to point out to you so therefore you are correct and win.

Nevermind the SCOTUS, DA, DOJ, Constitution, etc.

You are the final work on this. Congrats.

No go out and prosecute the next guy you see in an Army t-shirt.

Sir, you are making yourself look bad.

I served 25+ years retiring as an Army Senior NCO. I've conducted 1000s of in-ranks inspections as this poor soul was wearing nothing that can be categorized as a uniform that I ever witnessed.

Exactly what was the dipshit in the video wearing that made his uniform distinctive? No nametag, no US ARMY, no correctly placed rank. Did his beret have a the unit crest attached to the flash? He didn't have on a distinctive unit insignia, SSI or the American flag. He was wearing a universal digital camoflauge blouse and pants, black boots and apparently a beret. Was the UCP he wearing MILSPEC?

If a CAC card carrying member of the Armed Forces was wearing that nonsense, my first question would be "Why are you OUT of uniform?"

Everything he was wearing, to include the NFL t-shirt, are items that anyone with a credit card or PayPal can buy legally online.

If it's illegal to wear UCP, all DOJ has to to do is go find a boat launch or hunting camp at the right time to have a big take down.

I also don't believe that you will ever find an US Attorney to prosecute a non-DOD civilian with a violation of Title 10 USC. That's why the Stolen Valor Act is listed as written under Title 18 USC.

It is hard for civilians to understand the military unless you've served. They bust our balls majorly over uniform inspection. If you are out of uniform in any way it is a big deal. The uniform is very personal to the military members. It has your name and rank. You wear it with pride. So yeah it pisses U.S. veterans off when some dirt bag thinks he can just impersonate the military.

More than that it is a risk to the country when someone can put on a current official uniform with insignia. Criminals could use it for all sorts of misguided attempts. That is why if the situation warrants you can go to jail for 6 months for doing so. Now chances are because of Obama and his DJ you can violate the law and get away with it, just like you can be an illegal immigrant and face no repercussions but that does not make it right. I get it Stout. I just do not agree with it. Until you have given years of your life to the uniform, you probably will not understand. Enjoy the freedom you have to believe however you'd like!

Right. If it warrants it like committing fraud. Earlier your stance was they could go simply for wearing the uniform.

I hate when people bring this up.

I appreciate any service to our country people make, but when people bring this up they act as if they didn't have a choice. You weren't drafted in and made the decision to join knowing what it entails. Kudos to you for that but don't use it to justify your position on anything.

Sergeant, with all due respect by putting rank on a current Army uniform he met the criteria for being in violation of 10 USC 771. Any official vendor of military clothing is guided by 10 USC 771. Why because it is a federal law. Also the same issues surround FBI agents or U.S. Postal mail carriers, 18 USC 1730. I respect your opinion and thank you for your service but I will side with the rule of law on this one.

That's great. It has nothing to do with civilians though.
