You’ve got to find someone that’ll sell you that sticker under the table baw.

I know people who got the ticket and then brought proof of a new sticker to the DA and they dismissed the ticket entirely. I don’t think anyone really cares except for that loser who sits at the Lobdell exit.

There is a one month grace period, but some cops do not know this. I know one person who got a ticket in the grace and have heard of others.
Clip and save this inspection sticker statutory provision if you are in the grace:
E. (1) The mere failure of the owner or operator of a motor vehicle required by this Section to be inspected to obtain a current and valid inspection certificate shall not be in violation, provided that the certificate has been expired less than one calendar month; nor shall an owner or operator be in violation if he shall produce on demand, under Subsection B of this Section, a certificate of inspection for the vehicle valid and effective for not more than six months and not in current display on the windshield by reason of replacement of the windshield glass.
La. Stat. Ann. § 32:1304
Many say they drive expired for years. I guess cops are more forgiving these days.
A retired state trooper told me that it took him years after retirement to quit looking at the color of stickers on oncoming cars.

I don't know what shops you go to, but every one I have been to just want to make sure the lights, wipers, horn, and blinkers work.
If it fails, I think you are given a 30 day extension tag. It is red and ugly but it buys you time.
I doubt the guy will give a damn.

Mine expired may 2018...DGAF
I got a ticket in Lafayette a couple years ago from a state trooper. He noticed my sticker as he crossed me in traffic. The fine increases with every month that its expired. Mine was over a year expired and I ended up paying something like $250.
I was highly pissed off.

Scrape the sticker off and the State Troopers will let you go at checkpoints.

Yeah but it buys you a window to get it inspected

I have one on one of my cars that expired in 2014. I haven't driven that car since COVID started though.
