Make sure the name on her ticket is the same as on her passport. Friend took his honeymoon and had tickets as john doe and jane doe. His wife's passport had her maiden name.
No problem in Europe but on return to the US, homeland security kept her in a room for several hours with many questions.

absolutely true...passport is one of the things that you never think about until you are ready to travel and at that point, you are almost too late to get one...
if you have any chance of international travel, keep it current and you will never be sorry that you did so...

TTT,
I'm going there for my honeymoon. Sandals Regency La Toc or something. Is this where you are going?

I went 2 weeks ago and posted this to someone else. (Got the passport next day in New Orleans).
1. Go to walgreens and get 2 passport photos
2. Call the passport office (New Orleans, 365 canal place) and schedule an appointment for the next day
3. Go to appointment, park in the canal place parking garage, go down elevator and take One Canal Place elevator to 13th floor
4. Fill out renewal form. I think it was form 82? It's tricky because the one called "renewal" is actually for a lost or damaged card. You're looking for the generic passport application form.
5. Stand in line at counter 7, present current passport and printed out itinerary from your website
6. Guy from 7 gives you a number and you sit and wait to be called to another counter where they review all of your paperwork, you present your itinerary again, and then you pay in exact cash or by check or by credit card
7. They give you a date to pick it up. For us it was next day.
This was my experience as of this week. Hope it helps.

She changed her name between the wedding and honeymoon?

Yeah I'm wondering how she even got on the plane.
Your ticket and passport don't match....you don't get to get on the plane now.

She booked the trip using her married name bc she knew she would be married for the honeymoon. However she had no ID with that name.

That's a common mistake women make when booking honeymoon. They get so excited about using their new married name....they don't think logically how their name isn't legally changed yet right after the wedding.

My italics.
Nurse, this does not apply to you. I just couldn't let it pass without noting it.

I didn't change my name until after the honeymoon....even though our honeymoon was several months after the wedding. Didn't want to chance my passport not arriving in time.

I just screenshotted that and sent it to her. She has an appointment tomorrow morning

Has anyone said it's not too late to call off the wedding yet?

I'm a paranoid person by nature, what can I say.
That and one of the girls that went with me to Kenya almost didn't go because of passport issues. Learned from her passport drama.

That info was probably to me (and thank you, by the way).
Another question if you don't mind...
Can you opt to have them send you the passport by mail instead of having to make a return trip to pick it up in person another day?

I looked at the Grande but I don't think I am going to go with them either. Interested you hear about your trip
