How do you know this?

The school is offering a field trip. It’s not required. If it’s too much money or too non educational for you, don’t let the kid go.
If it’s not your kid, mind your own business.
If you want a fundraiser make the kid do some work to earn the trip. Good lord some of you people complain about anything.

This is rich. My hs would never even fathom a field trip. Especially one that was a week long. Kids would be getting drunk and stoned left and right.

Those trips are a lot of responsibility for the teachers and their family members who also go to help chaperone.

My daughter went this Spring on that Disney trip. DSJH?

ETA... it’s also nothing new. In 1985 my 8th grade class had the Washington DC triip
