Ya, I'm sure your wife didn't invite them at all.

Then I'd have a conversation with the wife about running it by you before she invites half of her family over to get in the pool (we all know they didn't come up with that on their own).

My parents had pretty strict ground rules about the pool they had when me and my brother lived there. You asked ahead of time to use the pool. Without permission it was a no go. Period.

I won't buy a house if it has a pool.

I would like to be in the pool during this time of year, but I wouldn't want to put up with the maintenance, the cost, and of course, the freeloading losers that will show up on a saturday morning preparing to piss all in my pool.

I guess I'm different, I can relax with people around. Hell having people over enjoying themselves seems more relaxing than sitting there by myself in the dead quiet, even if I'm off doing my own thing.

Never have I regretted it. I always told guests to bring towels and snacks.

Having uninvited guests could be the least of your worries.

I know of at least two cases in my town last couple of decades where small children found floating face down. One grandchild of pool owner and other a neighborhood child.

You want to guess who got sued successfully?

How can you be comfortable knowing all those people are destroying your home?

Go do an arse naked cannon ball and when everyone looks at you, say you only swim naked. Your house, your rules. This will eliminate your problem.

I don't mind the guests, but am sick of maintaining it. As ourctrss have gotten bigger, there's are more leaves in the pool and I'm constantly fighting algae.

And this is why I keep things on the QT. Some people always have their hands out.

No. I would rather my kids and their friends be over here at my place than running up and down the streets doing God knows what.

Let the 4th roll by then lay some ground rules down about how you like your privacy.
