I always get a kick out of people that think they are getting shite “for free” using their credit card points. You paid out the arse for those points.
Do you give a discount for cash paying customers? If not, paying with a CC is the smart thing to do.

I put all pocket change into a protein container and I use that for extra spending money when we do a vacation. It adds up if you work 7 days a week like I do and are constantly buying breakfast
That is some solid financial planning right there. I'll have to ask my protein container if all my change will fit in her. She might jangle when she walks.

My son in law is 25 and he prefers cash only. He is also one that uses it as a bargaining tool... or at least he thinks it is. "What will you take if I pay you cash?" I always say, "As opposed to what, gold or chickens or some shite?"

My grandfather was like this. Said he never had a bank account, credit card, etc. Would cash his paychecks and keep it all in a safe. Said he didnt trust banks to hold his money... dont ask why.
A lot of our grandparents lived through the depression or were born shortly thereafter. They remember the run on the banks and when the money you "put" in the bank disappeared. It mentally scarred a lot of people who lived through that and they never trusted banks again. Hell, my grandmother was a wealthy, wealthy woman but I still remember being puzzled why she washed used tinfoil and reused it. Those habits formed out of necessity don't die easy.

Great Uncle who was a sailor only paid cash back in late 60’s early 70’s. Lived very frugal.
Lived in a small house that was kept up well.
Seriously would not buy a color TV as it cost more in electricity at the time.
When he died my grandfather cleaned his house out and moved it finding $900,000 in coins, gold, and cash.

The closest I ever came was a period of about 3 years where I used cash only for anything that wasn't a utility bill or rent.
I'd take my paycheck to the bank and deposit only enough to cover any checks I needed to write. I took the balance in cash and bought groceries, gas, lunch, etc. If I ran out, I was broke until my next payday (which was weekly in those days).

Yes. This one real piece of shite who was hiding money during a divorce/child support ordeal.
