Ha I have a first edition set of those books I found at a yard sale up here in AK. Homesteading is/was real popular. Got it for a song too. Lots of interesting info in those books.

My older brother had that collection. Very interesting books about Appalachian life. Hog killing to medicine.

My mom bought her dad a set when they first came out. I have them now.

A reverse search of the keyframes from the viral video led us to the same video tweeted back in 2020. In the comments of this tweet, a person wrote, "Since it's getting some attention, I feel an obligation to inform that this is a CGI (the ball lightning part). Created by Andrei Trukhonovets."

Using this clue, we found the YouTube channel of Andrei Trukhonovets. The viral video was shared on this channel on May 27, 2019. The title of the video mentioned that it was computer-generated imagery or CGI. Trukhonovets is a CGI artist based in the Eastern European country of Belarus.

I've seen that twice in my life.
I think it's some kind of charged gas that comes out of the ground sometimes when it rains.
Both times I saw it was during a heavy rain period. Both times were at night too.

The one time I've seen it, it was much faster than that.

The first time I saw it, it came right down the road right at us, we thought it was a motorcycle, but it was pouring rain. It hit the truck we were in, right in the windshield and vanished. That was some weird shite.
The second time, it floated across in front of me slowly, from left to right, probably 30 feet in the air.
It hit a power pole and dissipated. It looked like electric confetti when it fell apart.
