Once when I first moved to Texas. Got to my truck for work the next morning, door was open and radio was gone.

Nothing else taken or broken.

It's under the door lip though.

It's like the slid a crowbar in there or the thing that pulls the lock mechanism down in the door.

There a slight protrusion of the metal part of my door that rims around the glass.

Look around the parking area, has there been any yard work done lately - especially weed eating or blowing? Buddy had the same thing happen at noon in a commercial lot. We were trying to figure out who would break in broad daylight in plain view of everyone and then the guy operating the blower came around the corner - saw us and quickly walked away. We found the rock in his drivers seat and figured it out.

The actual impact point is under the lip of the door if that makes sense.

Doesn't look possibly that a rock could get under there.

My parking is behind my house, off the street in sort of a shared lot/alleyway.

If you live in Sharlo, this isn't the last time. I lived there for over 3 years. In that time; I've had my truck broken into, the registration & insurance stolen out of my jeep (weird), I've foiled 2 attempted break-ins to my house, and one attempt at a neighbor's. That was 5 or 6 years ago. I'm sure its a lot worse now.

I never lock my Jeep. I got into the habit of it when I have the soft top on. I'd rather then open the door than cut the windows on a $450 top. Had one of those roadside emergency kits stolen from the dorm parking lot my freshman year. I was more upset they left the door open. They couldn't go after my stereo because I had a steel console. And they didn't look in the back because they could have easily stole the amp and subs.

Now I just leave it unlocked year round. Hardtop or soft. There's a ton of loose change that someone could take. But everything else is locked up.

Had my car broken into many times, but I drove a jeep with half doors without locks. It was to be expected.

My wife had her car broken into twice, both times because she left her purse in the car. Seriously women why

Truck got broken into during the LSU/Wisc game in H-town. was vallet parked at the Hyatt downtown and when they brought the truck up that sunday morning, I noticed I couldn't find my car charger. The vallet noticed that my door lock was punched in and asked if was always like that. I said no and he said that they had a few cars broken into just like this that morning. Apparently some douche canoe was hitting up all the cars in the vallet lot. I don't keep anything of value in the truck, so all this retard got was an old shop towel, a cheap arse car chrager and a bag of stale peanuts . Hope he choked on one.

The vallet service paid for the damage. Looked like the hit the tumbler to break the lock.

Yeah, in my own parking garage as well. Left my briefcase in over night. It was a recurring theme until they finally got security every night. Half the people in my complex have had their cars broken into.

Had my truck broken into in a covered and expensive extended parking garage at Hartsfield Jackson airport. The guys hammered a flathead into the lock cylinder. Took a GPS, maglight, and really nice knife. Police were useless, and actually upset at me when I told them I was going to hook up a battery to the lock cylinder and spread $100s over the dashboard next time.
