You say that I should slow.....as if I knew what the road signs said and what the speed limit actually was.
Driving throughout Europe without understanding any of the road signs was an eye opening experience.

It will also hit your social credit score, once Bernie gets it implemented, so be careful.

The key takeaway from this is that Austria, an overseas, former eastern bloc dump, is able to get tickets to foreign citizens in the mail 2 to 3 weeks faster than the outfit that handles tickets for New Orleans (a domestic dump).

I got one in Strasboug for going 54 km in a 50 zone. The credit card charge was just a fee to let the authorities know who you are. I got a separate letter from them with the fine
It was about 75 euros from what I remember and was graduated so if you didn't pay in 90 days it doubled.

Been ignoring it, waiting for the charge to appear on my corporate credit card.

Your beef is with Billy Joel, but I’ve driven in a few countries in Europe and thought the speed limit was posted clearly enough for us dumb Americans to understand. Sorry for your loss.

I got an email from the car rental that I had a speeding ticket while I was in Austria two weeks ago.
Anyone have any experience with European speeding tickets?

Guessing it isn't like New Orleans speeding tickets.
They are going to wait a while and give you a chance to deal with it, by the time that passes you will be assessed fines by the gov for not paying, next step is the rental car company being forced to pay it for you.
Want to guess what will be happening after that in a few months?
It will be charged to the CC of record and you will not rent from them again without providing a very good excuse.
I ignored a speeding camera ticket in the UK and that is how it played out.
