See, this doesn’t bother me if you’re doing it in lieu of actual gifts for a wedding. Especially if it’s a couple that is older or has been living together so they have all of the typical wedding gift things already.

It spares me having to take the time to search for a gift.

I remember my old nanny started a GFM to go see her "dying" grandmother.

She needed money for hotels and whatnot.

So I gave her a week off and enough money for food and hotel for a week.

3 days later she was posting pics of her daughter's new bicycle on FB.

Her grandmother is also still quite alive BTW

I was pretty much done with GFM after that.
