Yea screw that, that’s probably double what it’s worth.
Depends on how it was spec’d with components.
How much did the tandem go for? Tandem peeps are nuts.

If that Merlin bike is cheap-ish grab it, bikes are still hot shite right now with the pandemic and it's a titanium frame so that was an expensive bike back in the day.
I ended up getting the Merlin bike today for half price, $550.

Did you already get it sold? I saw it on your Ebay store and see it's gone now.

I was wondering how this sale went. That place was crowded as hell. So crowded you felt like you were missing out. Glad to know it wasn't anything special.
Antique, what'd you think of the one on Jolly?

I got a couple good buys on Jolly. I got six 1973 Kentucky Derby glasses for $58, sold for $180.
Plus I got the 80’s Adidas sweat suit there for $15. I had on offer for $50, I turned it down.

Nice! When I saw it posted on ebay I searched Facebook and saw someone had shared your ebay link on a couple titanium bike groups. Not going to lie, I was skeptical at $550 that there wouldn't be much left, glad I was wrong.

It was decked out with all top of the line stuff. The tires and rims were probably $400+ for the pair. The gears and brakes were Shimano Ultegra, high dollar stuff from what I saw. She dropped $4000-$5000 on this bike.
The tandem sold for $175 (half price). It sold with in seconds of me buying the Merlin, because my biggest competitor wanted both bikes. I beat him to the Merlin, so he grabbed the tandem when I grabbed the Merlin.

The OT needs a live stream of you and this guy and all other competitors each week at garage sales.

I lightly dabble in bikes, riding, working on them, flipping some of them. What I've learned is bike people can be weird, but tandem bike people can be weirder.
I bought an old beat touring tandem from a lady mainly as a joke for my wife and I to ride back and forth to downtown Lafayette for drinks, etc. While researching what I had I quickly learned that tandem people didn't think they were a joke and were pretty serious about them. Most of those people put thousands of miles on them a year touring with their spouses, when I was trying to figure out exactly what model I had the guy that confirmed it said he had the same bike and he and his wife racked up over 10,000 miles on it touring the US. Insane.

We are friends but rivals. He has actually given me cash (hundreds of dollars) a few times when I didn’t have enough cash. I would just Venmo him. He has $2000 cash on him at all times.
He does it for a living. I do it for fun.

I had to Google on how to take the brakes/gears off. I thought about taking the fork out to save a little more room. I decided not too, afraid I’d frick them up.

Interesting finds you post in here quite often
Curious to know how much you actually successfully sell for profit? Seems like a lot of stuff would be hard to move unless you’ve got connections.
Always enjoy your threads tho

In all seriousness, I RARELY lose money on an item, and if I do, it’s because I gambled. I won’t gamble unless I have something in my hand that I already bought that I know will make me a good profit.
I don’t look at each item as profit/lose, I judge profit/lose by how I did for the day, weekend, or sale.
I’ve bought a ton of stuff that I learned were not worth crap, but at the same sale, I bought one item I made a ton on, so it washes out the loses. Most gambles are $5 or less. I rarely gamble big money like I did with the saxophone I spent $200 on. I’m only going to make maybe $100 on it. I don’t like that type of profit margin when I spend big money
