For us it was because BRMHS doesn’t offer what we consider a traditional high school experience, particularly regarding athletics.
If your child doesn’t care about the major athletic programs (or athletics in general), or are more interested in visual and performing arts they would probably love the BRMHS experience. I also think it’s a great school for kids who are different. From everything I’ve heard it’s very accepting.
I watch their test scores every year to compare to my kids’ school. It does kind of hurt to see that we could save thousands every year to have basically the same academic output.
Academically my kids would do well at BRMHS but my son would have been miserable there. My daughter (other than cheer which she could still do outside of school) could find plenty to interest her there and probably would have liked it as much as her current school.
