I used to try to do it the right way but it doesn't work when everybody is doing it the wrong way, so now I follow the crowd.

I slowed down and put on my flashers so I don't have some dude running up the back of me

You should have just killed yourself instead. It makes it HARDER to both see you and judge your speed/intentions. Stupid fricking assholes.

It’s actually not illegal. Many people, even cops say this, but don’t know what they are talking about. Now, this doesn’t mean I am for it. The law is written in a way that actually allows it. They need to change the actual statute.

that's the only way you are seeing a car in front of you

If that's the only way, then I'll take the option of having the lights on continuously.............which is why it is a law

Why does this trigger people so much? They are called “hazard lights.” If it’s raining hard as frick and you can’t see so far in front of your vehicle and another vehicle is in front of you going slow as frick, I don’t mind if they have their hazards on. It helps me see them before I have to slam my brakes on.

So, if he would have just stayed in the right lane driving slower with his hazards on that would have still upset you? Why? It makes them more visible in hard rain when you cannot see so far in front of your vehicle. It’s better than not seeing the person until the last second and rear ending them. I honestly don’t get why this is such a big deal to people. WTF.

It is and I don't mind it as much as I can't stand Texas drivers that never leave the left lane!!!!

Better go to the academy and strap on a badge so you can enforce it

It's legal here in GA and I'm glad it is. Those lights tell you to take caution. Could be a perfectly clear evening and I'm humming along the highway, see a car I'm coming up on with hazards on, slow down, and realize once I catch up they're going 25mph below the speed limit. Inciting caution is good on the roadways.

In the rain, I don't want some a-hole running up on me, misjudging distance in a blinding downpour, and slamming into my backend. Hazards help mitigate that from happening.

It's actually quite a bit more dangerous for you if you're trying not to get rear-ended or in an accident in rain, as they basically mute your brake lights.

They also cancel out your blinkers, since it seems like some of y'all don't know that.

You don't want some a-hole "slamming into your backend" in a heavy downpour, but you've removed ALL INDICATIONS that you're slowing down and taking an exit (which is where a majority of rear end accidents happen on interstates).

You also removed any indication you're switching lanes, which is how the majority of side-swipe and "accidental pit maneuver" accidents happen on open interstate.

Basically, it's FAR more dangerous to drive with hazards on if you're trying to prevent being in an accident.
