the solar roof was a pretty cool topic. if i ever build, i may look into that. and i'm not very green minded at all.

I don't think he's calling everyone else a plebe, but rather he's stating at this point in time it's not necessary anymore. We have the technology to move beyond fossil fuels, and he feels the adaption rate is slow. The longer we wait, the worst the climate change is gonna get.

Yeah, those tiles are really nice looking.
Did you notice his expression when that topic came up? His assessment was it could sustain a home contingent on the HVAC draw. That's the drain. Joe asked if he had thought about a better option there and the look on his face was either he has or should. I bet he could develop a smarter system easily.

Understood, which is why I said I understood the sentiment.
he's obviously succeeded in building something better, but it's not available to the masses at an affordable price right now which is why the adoption rate is slow.
also as much ground as he's made, oilfield baws need to haul their boats. i'm not knocking him at all, i just think he's frustrated that not everybody has flocked to buying a tesla, when most of us can't, or won't because the product doesn't fit all needs yet.

i was listening on a run, so i didn't see a face, but i got the impression he had ideas there.
ETA: i obviously didn't watch it, but my favorite part of the interview was when he crushed Joe's dreams about flying cars and magnetic highways. you could tell he had a lot of hope dashed right there.

I’m definitely gonna let other people be the guinea pig for the computer you put in your brain.
Sounds like a lot can go pretty bad.

Now take high-speed fiber as an example and multiply that speed times millions. Us basically accessing computers in real time with zero input lag sending and receiving.
I think that this tech makes your acquisition of data much faster. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can also download how to interpret it. We also can’t use our brain to process information in the same digital way that a computer can. Meaning that our own brain would still be the bottleneck.
My biggest concern is what’s to stop hackers or governments from manipulating the facts that you are accessing. At least I can causally read something and take the time to determine if the source should be trusted. These instant cognitive data streams may not grant you such a luxury.

It’s even slower if you’re from Broussard, LA. (Janky)
