re: Elon Musk to advertisers pulling ads...epic

Not a defense, but isn't this a bit misleading. As I recall, the accepted valuation of Twitter was significantly lower than the $44b he paid, and was likely part of the reason he tried to get out of the deal before it closed. So it would be inaccurate to say he's responsible for all of that devaluation, and a real analysis would rather much more effort than the quote provides, factoring in such things as overall losses in tech valuations and so forth. In a nutshell, there's a difference between overpaying and destruction of value from management decisions. Similar to overpaying for a house vs letting goats poop inside of it afterwards.
Just by changing the name from twitter to x, it devalued the company 10s of billions of dollars. He was solely responsible for that decision.
He then had made multiple tweets, showing how idiotic and possibly-anti-Semitic he is, and then showing ads of companies that advertise with X, who do not want to be affiliated with racist/homophobic/anti-semitic, alongside that material. Advertisers decide they don’t like that and stop doing businesses with X.
Freedom of speech goes both ways. Just as Elon and whoever say and do what they want, so can Corporations decide they no longer want to advertis and fund a platform that tolerates hate speech.
Elon has lost his company billionS of dollars.

75% or residents from Louisiana and Mississippi don't have anything other than a high school diploma (actually far less than that).
Therefore, by your logic, no one in Louisiana and Mississippi has a college degree.
Like I said, ignorance.

Pretty sure X was able to prove that the anti-semitic ads next to advertisers were curated by following racist accounts and advertisers with multiple refreshes.
Media Matters is in some trouble for it.

Having a college degree is not a description of smart or educated. You must be pretty ignorant to not know that. When the vast majority of a population leans in one direction you can make assumptions.

Not even Ben Shapiro got worked up over that Tweet and that’s saying something.

I get you and many painting the entire Jewish community as one. That is why I said earlier it is ignorance to do so.
I said they overwhelmingly do you stupid frick.
quote:
Overall, about seven-in-ten identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party, including 68% of Jews by religion and 77% of Jews of no religion. Just 26% of U.S. Jews overall identify with the Republican Party or lean toward the GOP.
A suburb of Madison WI votes republican, but guess what; Madison/Dane County votes overwhelmingly democrat.
So no, your map showing little enclaves of red does not change the fact Jews vote dem 3:1 versus republican.

Ah, you mean you can be prejudice towards the entire group.

Didn't infer anything as to how smart anyone is. Merely stated that your analysis of data would conclude that you can safely assume no one in Lousiana or Mississippi has a college education (which I guess would mean they are not highly educated).

I don't think calling something ignorant is getting worked up. As I said, I don't think it is anti-semetic, not sure how Ben feels.

The tweet didn't say overwhelmingly though, it said Western Jews.
Am I wrong there?
Think it was "couldn't give the tiniest shite about the western jewish populations..."

Portrait mode. Wanted to include the rich jews in Westchester too. All inclusive with my data.

Yes it does, if the minority of the group speaks out than you can separate them from the group, if not they are included
For instance the tiny minority of orthodox are more conservative

Ahhhh, so now you are going to separate Jewish by ethnicity and now Jewish by religion.
So when you say "Good try when 75% vote lib/ dem" do you mean 75 by Jewish ethnicity or religious Jewish?
Or do you mean Western Jews? Or just Western Jews who aren't Zionist? Are the non-Zionist the problem for you?

You know as well as everyone else here that when a group overwhelmingly leans one way they are typically referred to as a single entity while everyone also knows there are generally a small percentage of a group that goes their own way.
Dane County is considered ultra liberal, yet some that lean right live there.
California is considered a solid blue, ultra liberal state and is referred to as such, yet millions of republican voters live there.
Yet you call Musk ignorant for retweeting "Western Jews" vote for this shite.
*I'm guessing you are in the 75% going off of your past posts.

I’d wager it’s more like 80-90%.

Yes, I agree it happens. I think it is ignorance when someone does it.

I think he clarified very well the point he was agreeing with. I don't think the original tweeter had that much depth in his tweet.
I don't think Musk is wrong in the point he was trying to agree with. But I do think he realized the tweet he promoted was too simple of a statement.
Also, I don't think Musk is ignorant in anything he did (perhaps ignorant in estimating how much stroke he has). My comment towards ignorance is the tweet he liked.

Yeah, they put it behind a paywall so all the features you got with the app for free before, you now have to pay for it. Meanwhile, for those that don't pay, you can still tweet and shite, but the app itself is severely limited.
And that's totally fine, I have no problem with owners putting a price on services, that's their right and it appears to have been the right move because a shite ton of people (most of them simps) are paying for twitter. But it's not like they were exactly innovative in what they did.

What do you tell yourself when you catch your wife fricking someone else?

Anyone using this as a legit excuse for saying Musk is mismanaging Twitter really doesn’t understand corporate finance. Fidelity is able to massage that number to lower the cost of equity on their books. Since it’s private, they have plenty of leeway in valuing Twitter. By writing it down, they can use the “loss” to offset equity gains elsewhere, thus reducing taxes. It also allows them to record a gain on Twitter later on.
So you are claiming one of the largest asset managers in the world will fudge their valuation of a highly publicized investment, which is audited every fiscal year, and highly immaterial to their bottom line so they can reduce their tax burden??
How can they reduce their taxes without a taxable event (i.e selling their stake in Twitter)???
