So a guy at work is retiring and they went around collecting money for those that wanted that would go towards a party meal for everyone and gift card for him. Found out like 5 or 6 people who loaded up on food didn't chip in.

That's trashy.

Chipping in on food is trashy on its own.

I'm assuming they were buying a big spread for the group?

I'd send an anonymous email ranting about those low life pieces of shite who ate the food but didn't chip in. Seriously, you work at a trashy place.

If this is anything like a Memphis BBQ, I'm willing to bet y'all had an assload leftover. I can't think of a single BBQ I've been to where we didn't have lots excess food. Sure it's kind of lame, but I'm willing to bet you would have just had more leftovers if they chipped in. I mean, really BBQ is the most likely cuisine where you have tons of extras since you basically invest in an entire fricking pig.

A moocher story. Years ago we installed a new ERP that required extensive training. We went all out with the perks that included hot breakfasts and lunches all catered daily. I was in charge of the training so I was there before 7 am to make sure everything was ok. A guy I had not seen in training was there before everyone piling up the food. The second day I asked how he was enjoying the training. He hemmed and hawed while munching on bacon. He admitted he was not in training but said it was his room we were using and he was entitled to the food. The nerve!

We had Christmas pot luck parties at the office. It was understood that the office cheap arse would set up and clean up because she wouldn't bring food, she even offered. That didn't last as she went to the boss and complained that she was doing all the work (CRAZY). The Christmas pot luck parties stopped.
