the crawfish farmers are hurting with the closure of restaurant . I will be doing 2 sacks of big ones Friday evening in way south texas. got a cross border smuggler that makes a run on Fridays from Morgan city

Not according to the place where I buy. They told me yesterday that this past Saturday they did record sales.

Farm prices fell to $1 yesterday. I expect 50% of the fields to be drained in next 10 days. If it falls again 100% thereafter

Yeah, it won't last long at this rate. Might be alot of late rice planted if it keeps up. Can't imagine many of these guys leaving fields drained with nothing on them from April 2020 to March 2021.

You can imagine it. Most wont be able to cash flow a loan for rice only

They also aren't making money on crawfish right now. I know a few guys that have already started draining some fields, and others that have said they will start before long if things don't get better. But you may be right, they may just leave them dry.
