How exactly do they know the water is that old? Carbon dating is pretty much bullshite once you try to get the age of anything older than about 10,000 years ago.

I think the way you interpret what he is saying makes for different responses.
The water on Earth from the melting of comets, the condensing of vented steam, and the filling of oceans ...THAT original source of it is far older than this pool of water that has been removed from the water cycle.
That is what is so special about this water. It is a pool of water that has been removed from the water cycle for that long.
Obviously there has to be older water like this. Continents could hold this water and continents are wayyy older than a billion. Try 4.0 billion! You just have to find it!
