Except other than the old 90’s alternative songs, 92.3 is about as far from rock as one can get. They mostly play stuff like Billy Eilish, Revivalists, 21 Pilots, Imagine Dragons, Lumineers, K-Flay, and Bastile. The station has pretty much become allergic to music with real instruments made in the last 10 years.

As for Eagle, I welcome them introducing more deep tracks. Their format had gotten way past stale playing the same 40 classic rock songs every day. If you commute to work, you’d often hear the same songs at the same time multiple times in a week. They needed to shake things up badly, and I appreciate it. In the past week, I’ve heard deep cuts from Dokken, Hendrix, Zeppelin, Journey, etc. songs I had never heard on that station, and it was awesome. I hate hearing “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Urgent” 12 times a day.

I find that pretty meh most of the time except for Elizabeth Cook's show. Willie's Roadhouse is better.

Classic Rock is a dying format.

Pink Floyd’s Darkside of the Moon came out in 1973.

If you were 22 in 1973, you’ll be 70 in 2021.

I don’t think those folks are consuming advertising anymore.

They had a good run, though.

maybe if they didn't play the same shite over and over, the genres would last a little longer.

My teenage mephews listen to classic rock. Not all the time, but they are definitely familiar with Pink Floyd.

I have heard Puddle of Mudd on 98.1.

But who listens to 98.1 for the music?

At 13, I attended a Pink Floyd concert in the Superdome in May 1994. I knew all the lyrics to all the songs played. I was upset the band didn’t play anything from the Animals album, which was and still is my favorite from PF.

A handful of young listeners won’t carry an entire genre of music.
