Palmetto is crooked garbage

Cenikor is a racket. Slave labor for the people there and the money to the operation. No counseling, 12 step, etc. they are not allowed to take their meds. There is no privacy even on calls with parents and/or lawyers. If you think that day after day gutting fish at Tony's is rehab, you are wrong. The only ones that I know who "completed" the program did so under court order. It is a complete sham.
You clearly do not know what you are talking about. That may have been your opinion of it but those are very serious and unsubstantiated claims. I know Cenikor well and it helps a lot of people get their lives together and get into great careers. It saves the states of Louisiana and Texas more money than you could imagine by keeping people with substance abuse issues out of the legal system and putting them back into the workforce. Its a shame you had such a negative experience though.

To the OP though, STC is a great program. I would suggest talking to Dwayne about working out a payment plan to keeping him there for the whole Recovery Home program. He may be able to work it out within your budget. If not, there are some Intensive Outpatient programs that may work after 3 months at STC and if he cannot stay sober after that, I would recommend Cenikor.

Palmetto in NELA. So far into the middle of nowhere he'll never find any drugs.

Tell him to be a grown up and stop taking drugs. Mind over matter.

Woodlake Addiction Recovery Center in Ethel is an option.

Grace house/bridge house in Nola. Cenikor in BR. I'm sorry that you're in this situation. It hurts and sucks. Your family should seek help so you can learn to manage your life as his addiction will take over everyone's lives, otherwise. Addiction counseling center on Jefferson/Lobdell, and maybe try AlAnon.

Palmetto. 30k a pop. Not cheap but an awesome place. Don't bleed your family dry time and time again. It only works if they want it, and I mean really want it.
Another option is Edgefield in cheneyville--well, it's nice, anyway.
Palmetto is probably the best treatment in the state in terms of private rehab facilities.
For long term post treatment-grace/bridge house and cenikor. I think you have to be destitute to get into those otherwise you have to go on a waiting list.

Typically a 45 day program.

If he is already at STC for 3 months, this is not an option after he has done that. He will have done more work on his addiction in 3 months at STC than he could do in a year at Woodlake.
