Driving Range Manners

Big ol' boy (BoB) at Santa Maria (about 6'3" 230lbs...looked like a pro athlete) was getting a drink at the snack shop by the range.
Some jackwagon pulled up in a cart, walked up on the practice surface, did the look left and look right routine, and then started hitting out of BoB's bucket. Keep in mind that BoB's bag and everything was sitting right there. The balls were clearly not abandonded.
BoB saw it and walked over. Very calmly he asked, "You want to use my clubs too?" and Jackwagon nearly shite himself. With his lip trembling, he asked "I was just going to hit a couple. Do you want me to buy you another bucket?" BoB just said "No, just fricking ask next time."
Was an arse-whipping warranted? It would have been fun to see.
