165 is impressive to achieve if it's a factory car. I had my old Mustang GT up to 144, winding out the gears, and it wouldn't pull any harder.

I only did things like that back when I was young and stupid. I haven't actually tried to test a vehicle in decades, but I've blown past 120 in a dodge neon of all things back then. Most other vehicles I drove back then seem to shut down acceleration at 120.

Same. This was a empty road with no intersections or turn offs. At least I would have only killed myself.

This is a 4 lane, uncontrolled access highway. Numerous side roads and u turn lanes, etc.
If you want to test the max speed of your ride, at least do it on an Interstate standard, controlled access highway.
