I’ve just started having dreams with my dad in them. Didn’t think I would have them so soon.
Just random dream…not good or bad dream. My dad driving us around. Woke up feeling just unsettled.

About two decades ago, I dreamed about my parents who had died about 15 years earlier. It was a normal day at home with them.
I woke suddenly and thought, "I haven't talked to them in a while, I need to call them." About two minutes later I realized that they were long gone. Sadness and a lonely feeling took over and it took a couple of days to shake it.

I’ve heard them called visitation dreams.
I vividly remember the dream I had a few months after my Dad passed away in 1998. He looked like he did when he was in his mid forties, tan an in great shape. The amazing thing was he had a glow about him. He told me he was happy and not to worry about him. It had to be a visit, it was so real.

What's weird about my two dreams is that the one's with my maw maw, she's happy. It's like she's just happy to be at home cooking for all her kids and grandchildren and just listening and taking it all in. and that's pretty much what i'm doing.
with the dog, he seems to be worried, like he's lost and wandering around, and then when he sees me, it's extreme joy. I feel the same in those dreams, like i'm lost and wandering around through the randomness of a stupid dream.

Prolly your IRL being in a good place and your brain is just hitting those good memory files deep in the file cabinet.

Ever since my dad died in 2015, I've had regular dreams of being at my parents' house cooking brisket on my dad's old charcoal grill. I'm also aware in the dream that this shouldn't be happening because I know he's dead, but I don't say anything.
Since my mom died last October, these dreams now include her and my siblings (all of which are still alive). I'm always sad the next morning when I wake up because, as others have said, it was like getting to visit with them one more time.

No i'm not on drugs, or ever have been.
I could give you some stuff to where that dog would actually speak English to you.

that seems to be a common thing.
You're aware you're in a dream, and you're aware this shouldn't be happening, but you don't say anything and just enjoy the moment.

Maybe your dog can rest now that he found you.
