the people who are all meded up get real defensive when you call them out.

He acts like no one ever has dealt with these issues without taking meds.

Had ADD for 15 years before getting on meds. Saved my life because I would have never finished HS or College. I take a pill a day man. I don't want or need anymore than the prescribed amount.

I don't, and I wouldn't give stimulants to a kid. But attention issues are not behavioral issues. I've taken it before, but I didn't like the cold fingers and high blood pressure thing. I made it through school without taking any or accepting any help. I could've gotten straight A's, but lived with the D's in the boring classes. I might go back to the doctor to see about a non-stimulant drug. I'm a piping designer and it could really help.

It was people like you who always told me I was too smart to have ADD. It goes to show how much you know about the issue.

bullshite. I am a victim of this terrible disease, which my parents neglected to treat, causing a precipitous decline in my well-being and quality of life. Specifically, I abhor tedious details requiring the expense of effort to grasp and much prefer doing what the frick I want with my time which, as a child, was running around like a fricking lunatic.

people like me? WTF are you talking about. I have admitted i have some sort of the disorder. But i didnt resort to meds at an early age. i learned/was trained how to deal with it at an early age to where I can live life without having to take a pill.... Of course i enjoy taking them when i can get them, it makes life easier, but is the easy way out.

this, I hate the people who claim them as a necessity to do anything. especially if they are forcing their kids to take them.

Restless legs syndrome is the same as ADHD, right? As far as it being a crock that big pharma made up.

Call it what you want. One of my kids had "the symptoms commonly known as ADHD," and he struggled in school. Took meds, and the improvement was drastic.

The cure for childhood ADHD isn't medicine. It's disicpline. End of story.

Glad you found a malpractice commitong hack to support your ignorant political opinion. At least you have an excuse, you're not a doctor. I, on the other hand, will rely on he overwhelming majority of physicians and my personal experience and that of one of my three children in telling you and him to STFU, you ignoramus. Having said that, I agree it is over diagnosed but that's a different issue entirely.

You mean RLS is not real? Well, that means that is one more pill I can stop taking.

I do think there are a lot of made up diseases like ADD and ADHD that are fabricated to increase drug & pharmaceutical sales.

It all goes back to parenting. Parents will look for any excuse to take the blame off of them, if they can pass the blame onto something else like ADHD as to why their kid is a brat who doesn't pay attention, they will do it.

I also think autism is overblown. Not fake or fabricated like ADHD, but people are too quick to point to autism on some kids.

And doesn't it piss you off that people who are far inferior to you got straight A's because they were medicated?

Not really. Their success was just a letter. How far can a hyperactive idiot really make it past school?

I'm all about working through things without taking the easy road. I think less of people who cheat through life. But I try not to let them get to me.

Then you've been trained well. That's good. I made it a point to find all the best ways to compensate for my attention. There's no 'muscle' I can flex to stay focused on something that doesn't excite me, only meds have ever done that for me, but I've found tricks here and there. I'm not the hyper type... the hyperactivity is all in my head. I'm too introverted and quiet to be the stereotype most people think of.
