That's how I spell retarded.

Once a company hires them, you know it's leadership is terminally retarded.

DOW chemical is a totally unserious company, totally bought in to woke, and the greater good being more important than earnings to the stockholder. My view is based on retiring 25 years ago from dow, having a very few shares, and personal relationships with folks at several current sites.

The annual report for 2024, published 12 months ago included a review of the sexual preferences of the CEO and board, they came out. And they have very large joint ventures in conservative muslim countries.

At the Saint Charles site, they have sold off large portions of the infrastructure, think tank farm, utilities etc and leased it back to free up funds for the balance sheet. Last week driving by the site, I see a huge new office building under construction, 3 story, big as a warehouse, maybe 20 million dollars. Serious conflict in plain site.

At Alberta a zero carbon ethylene project has been put on hold, market or economic realization, can't easily cancel because of completed engr/purchasing cost that would be written off.

At Saudi, the Saudi's appear to be just absorbing Dow's half

Dow/Fetterling deliberately pushed capital into social programs, climate change etc and the company really does not talk about selling chemicals

the plant level people are good folks and the corporate management unseriouness has been difficult for them to deal with
