Yes they will take it if you have it but you missed the point. The point is they will tell you not to speed up and get around the driver to obtain the plate number. She did that when it wasn't needed.

In this situation.. will the police really even doing anything? Yes the dude is a racist POS but that's not illegal.
They are not going to waste their time on that especially not being able to prove what happened before.
Putting it on social media will have a bigger impact than getting the police involved.

It could make me lean one way or the other but as of now, I say they were both in the wrong. The language wasn't necessary but that doesn't excuse her from continuing to speed up and instigate and also put others in danger.

Yeah they said don't get too close, but if I could safely read the plate to do so. I ended up just passing him, getting the plate, and speeding way past him. Saw the red and blue lights in my rear view a little bit later.
