Had several people tell me that I had a doppelgänger who worked at the Super One in Ellick many years ago. Never met the guy.

Would you do someone who looks like your sister?

My former partner and I were eating outside at a restaurant on a nice spring day, when she asked what my picture was doing up on that billboard. It was a NYTimes billboard with a picture of the German general that was the head of NATO.

Back in the 90’s my family had just left 11:00 am mass at Saint Thomas More and my sister wanted taco bell for lunch. My father drove us to the original one on Sherwood Forest next to Podnuh’s BBQ. My mom and sister waited in the car my father and I went in to order. The store was pretty much empty and my father went up to the register to order, while I zigzagged through the metal queuing area.

As my dad was at the register this man walked up behind him and touched the back of his arm. The man had a blue baseball cap, green jacket and a scruffy face. He asked my dad if he could spare some change. My dad was visibly shaking and stumbled. He caught himself and agreed to pay for the mans food. This man talked to my dad for several minutes until our order was brought out. We began to make our way back to our car I could tell my dad was still not right. As he handed the bag to my mother she asked him if everything was alright. I could hear my dad say “there was a man inside the store who looked exactly like his brother.” My mom ended up having to drive us home. Several hours later I asked my dad if he knew that man at taco bell. He looked at me and said “the man looked exactly like your Uncle Melvin who passed years before you were born.” My dad passed several weeks ago and prior to his passing he would constantly remind me of the event. He would call it “the time Uncle Melvin got to meet his nephew.”

Are there any sites that allow you to upload a pic that will return the closest doppelgänger faces available?

I’ve never seen a true one of mine. Only a guy that briefly looked similar in HS. We didn’t look alike in middle school or as adults.

In high school, senior year, there was a new girl that came in as a sophomore. She looked exactly like me, but was a girl. It was really weird. She had a crush on my best friend who probably would have closed the deal except for the fact she looked exactly like me. I only had to deal with that for a year before I graduated, never heard of or saw her again. But it was like having an identical twin. It was a big high school, people would ask me about my sister not knowing that I had no sisters, because we looked that identical.

I’m from New Orleans and on two occasions had people tell me I look just like some guy from Opp, Alabama.
