Cop asks if she has her DL, which she doesn't because she literally just walked out in her pj's to move her car, but she has all other legal documents (insurance and registration) with her address clearly on them. Cop says doesn't matter, she needs to have her DL on her at all times in the car, writes her a ticket.

from a cops perspective, how do you determine who is lying? how does he know she is just going around the corner to change parking spots?
how do we know she wasnt already dressed for work, making it look like she was going to work, to the cop?

Uhh, that's a terrible comparison. Speeding, no matter where it's done, can be considered dangerous not only to the driver, but to any unexpecting motorists.
Carrying a DL is simply a regulatory measure that makes it convenient for law enforcement to check if you are a valid driver.

My favorite was the unsafe lane change ticket I got. The prosecutor questioned the officer and I represented myself so I got to question him afterwards. In my most lawyer like tone I said," now I wasn't speeding, correct? Because you would've given me a ticket for that." And he acknowledged that was correct. I then asked if I had my blinker on, which I did, and he acknowledged I did. I then asked if any other cars had to hit their brakes or swerve to avoid me and he said no.
Then in my most condescending tone I Asked "now the markers dividing the lanes in question, were those solid white lines indicating no passing or are those dotted white lines indicating passing is legal" and he said they were dotted lines.
I ended my questioning with "so it's your testimony that I, while following the speed limit, turned on my blinker to indicate I was changing lanes, passed a vehicle while maintaining the speed limit, then placed my turn signal on to indicate I was changing lanes and changed lanes while maintaining a safe enough distance as to not effect any other cars on the road?" He stumbled with a "well yeah--I guess so".
I looked at the judge, shrugged and said no further questions in a questioning tone. She took about 2 seconds and said case dismissed.

A reasonable person would notice that her address is literally 100 ft away, and could simply ask her to pull over, run in and get her DL. I know we can't expect cops to be reasonable though

I've give you the logic based reason. The speed limit is the maximum safe speed under optimal driving conditions. So if it were just as safe or more safe to go 5 mph over the speed limit then the speed limit would be 5 mph higher. Therefore it must be less safe to go 5 mph over the speed limit. Or 1 or 2 even.

Lol if you think that's true. They screw the poor equally if not worse, and when they don't pay the ticket, they put a warrant on the put them in jail over a signal light the next time.
