I'm in Austin and thought I'd give it a try. A 7.5 mile trip was $60. Not sure if it's that expensive everywhere but that's not gonna work for us BR drunks

Was this yesterday?

If it was, you likely had to pay surge pricing.

I call bullshite. Unless you sat in traffic in a black car for 45 minutes during surge pricing.

Uber is an amazing service and is only a dollar or two more than a taxi (unless you take black car which is a $25 minimum)

I did take a cab after the bars Thursday night because surge pricing was out of control.

I am about 7 miles from downtown Denver and my typical ride there or back is always right at $12

Are you serious? I took on Thursday night and it was great. Made the poor guy wait as we picked up food. It was a 35 minute ride and it was only $25.

Hell, I just took one to the airport and it was only $34, usually cabs are around $65-$70. It's way cheaper

It says online its 1.50 starting fare with 1.90/mile and .30/minute.

I don't see how this could get up to 60 bucks

During busy times when few drivers über tells you it is anywhere from x1.25 - x2.5.

I can believe it if he took an uber in traffic with a x2.5 charge

Completely anecdotal and vague with nothing backing it up and failing to mention why über charged him so much or what he did or how he set the ride up.

Please.
