Where do you think the saying bombdotcom came from? www.bombdotcom.com No one would normally say that, but it's catchy and took off.

I bought fishunt.com back in the late 1990's. I eventually sold it to some folks that named their company prior to actually seeing if the name was available. I sold it to them for a cool $7k. I own several others, too, some of which are active online retail companies. When Obama started to get the Cuba travel ban dissolved I bought cubabeachdestinations.com. I'll make some money on that one via online travel sales eventually.

ETA: I saw fishunt on a license plate on my way back from Fourchon one weekend. That's where that one came from originally.

Just started typing in random shite as it came to me and added .com... if there's no site associated checked Godaddy.com to see if it's available.

Back in the very early days of the Web I owned either batonrougetraffic.com, or brtraffic.com too long ago to remember. The traffic app would not be invented for another 20 years and I envisioned a site with live traffic information, never had time to do anything with it and sold it making a few bucks.

Around the same time LA state representatives realized thy should each have a web address with "theirname.com" they each discovered that someone had already claimed all the names in the LA legislature and was offering to sell them back.

Cuba beach vacations.com will be a six figure sell one day for you. Congrats.

There's a guy that owns the .com of my in laws business. He wanted $500 and my cheap father in law cussed him out via email. He redirected it to a local competitor.

Also Nissan.com is a small computer company. The car company tried to sue them and lost.
