I bet your dog was asking for it.

I agree, new data has come out that spaying/neutering your dog can and will cause further aggression issues from hormonal imbalances as well as increased health risk (the opposite of what they tell us).
It’s also known that neutering a large breed male dog before the age of 2 can and will have serious consequences on the bone development. The dog is much more likely to develop hip and elbow displaysia, elongated head, and be over sized in general due to growth plates not closing.

When did the veterinarians at Reddit clip your balls?

If we neuter DavidTheGnome can we have LucasP back intact?

That's exactly what they evolved to be.

My dogs are not spayed or neutered and they love every dog/human they meet. My male has not knocked up any females nor have my females ever had puppies.
Every time I go to the vet I get a side comment about how it reduces their risk of cancer and improves their attitude. I had to go to a new vet once who got pretty snarky when mentioning this comment. I just looked at her and asked “Have you had a hysterectomy? Because it would probably improve your mood and reduce your chance of cancer”
She wasn’t a fan of mine, but I think I got the point across.

quote:Unfortunately, you are the exception and not the rule as far as being responsible. There are too many irresponsible owners who allow the dogs to procreate and then abandon the puppies or abandon dogs prior to spay/neuter. This leads to overpopulation. Check any shelter and see the sad results.

If owners look like their pets, she has a greyhound.

I think she owns Weimeraners judging from her google images

I have a 9 year old lab with a set on him that would make you truck driving baws jealous. He has never had health issues and is not aggressive.
Every now and then people will try to tell me how terrible I am for not cutting them. I just laugh and move on with my day.

Man domesticated Dogs from wolves.... so yea they literally are here for our convenience.

I dont begrudge your choice at all - I only neutered SW to prevent health issues down the road. He still humps his pillow at age 12.5.

Spaying and neutering puppies shouldn’t be standard policy — and it isn’t automatically the “responsible” choice either.
Focus on a more devastating cause. Circumcision is mutilation designed to quell the libido of men and make them more compliant to a monogamous slave-like existence.
Circumcision is a much more serious issue.

Got to agree with you OP. I just don’t understand how people can bring themselves to cut their best buds balls off

This is a big part of my reasoning. I also think all the health "concerns" your vet feeds you is just a selling point for them to make more money.
