Jesus Christ some of you folks don’t have an ounce of resilience. Suck it up and please never have kids.

I get all that. And she is very trainable. But S mentioned, she absolutely is not getting the stimulation she needs right now. I’m doing my best but my best doesn’t seem to be enough right now. Hence the depressed feelings

Several. Not as the owner. Just growing up my family always had an ankle biter or two.

First time dog owner? It will all be good you have to get used to each other. The dog will be your best friend if you just show it love and affection.

You’re so fricking stupid it hurts. You pay an “adoption fee” at shelters and “rescue” them so they aren’t euthanized. “Ain’t a whole lot of kill shelters” You don’t know what you’re talking about

you're a fricking idiot, I've been "rescuing" dogs for almost twenty years, it's a racket, I do love the animals, but it's kind of a hustle

Listen dude, I’m fine. Everything’s fine. Yes, I wrote a post on the internet about how I feel. And I am honest. I do have feelings of self doubt here. Does that mean I’m weeping curled in the fetal position? No. It doesn’t. It’s just another step in the journey. But this is a fricking message board. fricking A I thought proplr would have wanted an honest update

First time as an adult as the primary owner. Had 4 dogs growing up but those were….. basically walking plushies. And I occasionally house a golden retriever which is extremely well behaved and does whatever I ask it to.

I am very much not experienced with this situation.

I mean, I paid a $20 adoption fee. They paid several hundred for the surgery. They definitely lost $$& on her

Dude it’s a dog and it didn’t get put down. It got the help it needed and you’re going to give it a great life.
Don’t have kids if you’re getting depressed about something this trivial.

Would it help if I tell you it’ll likely eat literal shite at some point?

Because it’ll likely eat literal shite at some point.

Sounds like you’re too emotional for a dog. Can your boyfriend watch the dog for a bit and give you a mental break?

Lol, I’m always extremely anxious. About everything. My anxiety outlet is message boards so it allows me to be normal in real life.

Good for you!

Do you not know how to post pics of the pup?

Rescued lots of dogs in my life, they seem to give the most love as they know what life on the street is like.

That is the attitude, now get back to her before she destroys the couch. Women are like that with attention seeking behavior.

It’s going to be fine. When we got our younger dog two years ago I definitely had a couple of days where I was like oh frick this was stupid. He was hyper and really active. My older dog is the greatest dog ever to have with 3 kids.

She does nothing besides trot around the back yard and bark at cranes in the canal or the occasional animal outside and wants nothing more than to lay on the pool deck.

The young dude took some getting used to but it all worked out.

These dogs don’t get to go to dog parks or sit at tables of restaurants and stuff like that but they have pretty damn good lives and are really content.

It sounds like you’re going to be a way more dedicated dog owner than we are so chance are your dog will have an even better one.
