yep, it does work for the website that sent you the first spam but any recognition you got the message and they immediately sell your email to the spammers

Yeah. It usually just alerts them that you're a working email address.
Sometimes it does work.
Real spam (to me anyway) is email that was totally unsolicited.
If you're getting emails from say home depot, they're probably legit.

If you are using Outlook, before Unsubscribing, take a moment to right click on the offensive email and select “Always Block Emails from this Domain” choice.
Then Unsubscribe.
I’ve had my primary email address since the 1990s and it’s really clear of junk & spam.
