Autopilot is fine but nothing special. The Full Self Driving is incredible. I drive a good bit for work around South LA (all day trips under 200 miles) and I'll just put in the address and it will take me there if I want. It is by far the most useful on interstate/highway driving. Works fine in city but I prefer to control it myself as I'm a little more assertive that it is with stop signs and turns.

The fact that Elon Musk is trying to shut down the agency investigating the growing number of Tesla autopilot crashes should tell you all you need to know.

Tesla uses visual cameras that result in lots of mistakes that other car companies are able to avoid using much more reliable LiDAR sensors.
1 accident every 7+ million miles. Human drivers 1 accident every ~110,000 miles.

Imagine trying to imply that full self driving is a safety issue

I used FSD for about 3-4 months with a ton of driving in Baton Rouge. It did great and I rarely ever had to intervene.

Thanks yall! I won’t be able to get one until maybe next year, I hope. I love the idea of FSD. It sounds rather safe if it make sure you’re still paying attention.

Yes, it works very well now actually. First started using it in 2019 and it was not that great and gave me a little anxiety on unprotected turns, some phantom breaking, wouldn’t drive very “human like” when people pulled out in front of you, etc. But now it’s pretty phenomenal, I have done several round trips from BR to NOLA on 99% FSD and it performs very well.

Can't speak for LA but it is awesome in Alabama. I never "drive" anymore. Takes me from my house to my office and back without ever touching the steering or pedals. Stops, turns, merges, passes, it's pretty damn cool.

Most of my FSD has been in Huntsville but I have also used it for road trips to Tuscaloosa (150 miles, all interstate) and Andalusia (280 miles, 80% interstate).

Anybody problems with potholes?

What does it do to you when I start moving into your lane or brake check you when you aren’t touching the wheel? I always do that to Tesla drivers just to make sure they are paying attention.
