I buy things from time to time. Never tried to sell anything.

I hate PayPal with a firey passion.
I have had some of the worst customer service experiences with them. I tried to remove bank account 'A' from being my PayPal account and switch it to 'B'. They messed up (they admitted) and it didn't process correctly. I got a confirmation email saying I had updated my account. I then bought about 10 items over the next few weeks using PayPal only to find out my original account had been charged (which I no longer had more than $40 in after transferring everything) and I was charged a $35 overdraft fee by my bank for each charge.
I called PayPal and they told me that even though they confirmed I had updated my account, it was my responsibility to go back in after each transaction and verify. They refunded me for 1 of the overdraft fees after I had to snail mail them my statement as proof.
Then I called again to complain that only 1 got refunded instead of all of them and they literally put me on hold for 45 minutes before I hung up and gave up. They won that war.
I just don't use it anymore.

I've never had a problem with Paypal... use it for ebay and for fantasy baseball payments/payouts all the time.
It sucks to pay a fee, but usually when I sell something the payment is within minutes and I can get it ready and send it out. If there is an easier way that's also cheaper, I don't know it.

For peer-to-peer payments, myself and everyone I am friends with, now uses Venmo.
Its so much easier and it hits my bank account faster than paypal. And of course there are no fees.
ETA:
They are not a service meant for businesses.

Well peer to peer Paypal doesn't typically have fees either.

That's true if people know to click on the right thing. Venmo has a much MUCH more user friendly interface on their app. Its incredible.
And it hits your bank account faster.

I'll have to look into it.

Few things to note. eBay owns PayPal that owns venmo. eBay also owns stubhub and own 25% of craigslist. They are splitting with PayPal though so you'll probably see more payment options after, like apple pay or even Bitcoin, for those that don't like PayPal.

I used to sell alot, I have cut back recently over the years. I think the buyer has to much power on ebay. I was getting shafted left and right alot of the times. Ebay always sides with the buyers in disputes it seems

Did not know that. Maybe they bought Venmo to be their peer-to-peer payment solution while they are keeping PayPal to be their business solution?
