LSU Senior Design had a group working on a Roomba type lawnmower. There were so many controls and sensors required to prevent safety issues that the group fell way behind and just hooked a remote control to it and drove it remotely in secret. I don't think the professors knew

Well, I didn't read the article or even click the link you provided, so I did not know that. If I can't piss off my a-hole neighbors (both of em) in the morning, why bother?

You can still crank up your gas power at the crack of dawn, tie the handle down to keep the engine running, and go fix a cup of coffee and sit on the back porch while the little quiet robot mower does all the actual work
