Looks and sounds a lot like this nasty fungal rash I get on my chest, back, and arms.

That's nothing like what they are talking about. For that fungal rash(VERY common for anyone who's outside sweating alot), all you need is your doc to write you a 5-7day script for a pill. That will kill it good for at least a year. If you don't like pills, dandruff shampoos will work(have wife rub it all over like lotion before you shower for few minutes).

Also, walmart brand AF cream for Athletes foot will cure it.
I have taken the af pill 3 times in 10 years when it came along. Bothersome but, again, it's nothing like the OP condition.

Sun exposure could be a factor. I worked as a home health nurse for 11 years, driving car all day. I have sun damage to left side of my face and my left ear is the problem. I always wore sunscreen.

I think stress does make it worse. Lol and the showers comment was funny but showers sometimes dry it out worse. I use a face wash called glyderm, it helps in the shower.

I would shower and not wash my face with soap every time because it felt like I was drying it out and making it worse. My dermatologist said wash my face twice a day with soap. It would dry out and suck for a few days but after that it cleared up. Dove soap. Nothing fancy. Haven't had the issue in a few years.

I've got it, but not nearly as bad as some of the photos I've seen on the internet. Just some minor dryness and redness around the top of the nose and behind my ears. The dandruff is the worst part.

But when I use the shampoo below (along with a Head & Shoulders conditioner), it seems to keep everything in check.

Clean up your diet. Avoid wheat, sugar, and dairy for a month or two and see if you skin clears up.

I agree with this. Try juicing as well. Carrots, Kale, cucumber with one apple
