Docents Gone Wild - Generational Commentary Inside

***ETA FOR THOSE OF YOU RAISED IN LOUISIANA: DOCENT = TOUR GUIDE...OR LIKE "EVENT STAFF" AT A MUSEUM***
Just read an interesting article in the WSJ about baby-boomer docents are slowly starting to overtake museum volunteer positions. Horror stories of these boomers being rude, insulting, flaunting authority, misstating facts and generally raising hell
"They felt really entitled after spending enough time here not to make any changes from the way they had previously done things" said Hirshhorn museum spokeswomen Kelly Carnes
In fact, websites and blogs have popped up for younger professionals to share horror stories about such docents. Since they are baby boomers, they have yet to figure out how to log on and read the comments themselves
Just thought it was curious to hear about what a menace a non-millenial generation can be, especially when they think they know it all and don't respect authority

I would be willing to bet that I could guess the color of the females skin due to the fact that they felt entitled.

How in the hell did the author know how these people felt [entitled]? That's a mighty big leap, given that is one of the premises of the article.

Did you read the rest of the sentence?

While technically correct, it means absolutely nothing in this context (the word ´docent´).

I only clicked on the thread Bc I didn't know what a docent was. Now that I know, the story isn't that interesting

Dude, I´m lost.
1. Where the frick is Hirschorn Museum?
2. They disregard their previous way of acting, ignore facts? Dafuq, are they senile, and they´ve not been pulled from circulation?
3. LOL with the comments. People are rarely if ever, factual on websites and blogs. If they go to all that trouble, it´s to dick somebody over.

1. Washington DC
2. That's the point of the article
3. I believe it with some of the guided tours I have been on and the stories I have heard
