Do you use Mrs ever or do you always default to Ms

I had a business teacher tell me once to always use Ms to begin letters. Thought about it and it made sense, you don’t always know whether a woman is married or not and it seemed weird to base how I greet her based on her marital status so I’ve always defaulted to Ms ever sense.

"Ms." is intended to mean either Miss or Mrs.
