Why risk it?
Why risk driving at all? Someone could rear end you and cause your gas tank to explode.

and can’t find a single news article on leaving a vehicle running lead to a gas station explosion
Your search engine skills are as crap as your math skills, I found three stories on the first page of a Google search that all blamed an issue from the engine compartment or a catalytic converter igniting gas fumes.

If the engine is running there is probably less chance of vapor ignition, certainly no more than if the engine is off

What would cause a check engine light? My truck doesn’t even have a gas cap

My F250 diesel runs all the time, baw.
I one went up to Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and eastern Washington in the grips of an extreme cold spell, and didn't turn off the diesel engine for a week. It ran 24/7 for a week.
