Maybe someone has utilized this analogy in the thread, but if not, here it goes:

Imagine that your grief is like a circle, and your mental state is like a box that contains the circle. Early on, the circle is rather large and it constantly makes contact with the edges of the box, causing you pain. As time goes on, the circle gets smaller and smaller, but it will still hit you every now and then - perhaps a little duller and less painful, but still there.

My nearly 70 year old father says he still has dreams about a woman from his early 20's a few times a year.

I’m probably going to have to do this. I’ll probably just have to delete social media all together and have TD as my only source of social media lol. Shouldn’t be an issue though because TD is the best social media outlet around.

You’re absolutely right. We can either lie down and give up or get up and grow. I’m going to choose to grow, I just know there are going to be times where it hurts during this process. It’s just so hard to let go. It’s all about the process though and fighting through adversity. I just always thought the heartbreak I experienced in sports would have had me more prepared for these kinds of times though not gonna lie lol. Oh how wonderful it is to become an adult. I know this isn’t close to the end on heartbreak and losing something too. It’s probably just beginning.
