Many times, the "to go" person has to enter the order, gather the shite and bag it up.

So I have to tip them for doing the job they are paid to do?

Whenever I went to Chimes on Highland while in college to grab a to-go order I always tipped a couple bucks to the girl working the carry out orders. I’d feel bad when she had to deal with the shite people ordering carry out before a hip hop concert at the Varsity, complaining about this and complaining about that, and thinking it was hilarious in making her run to the back for extra ranch.

A dollar or 2 is what I usually do. A dollar on a small order and 2 on a bigger order. I understand that these people work on tips and im not a frugal a-hole that bitches about tipping on social media so I go with the flow of how the system is set up. I used to bartend so I get it.

I just dont understand why there are so many OT ballers out there that bitch about having to tip. If you cook at your own home, you dont have to tip.

if they got paid even minimum wage, sure, you are right. But they dont sooo if you cant afford to throw a dollar just outta respect then I dont wish to know you. A dollar is like what a nickel was 50 years ago. Just throw em a nickel man.

You cheap fricks, if you can't afford the tip you cannot afford the meal.
exactly. Especially if it’s a place where you regularly get carry out. Whats a goddamn dollar or two gonna set someone back when you can be respectful and keep your food handlers happy. I just have never seen the big deal and Im aware im in the minority of the OT. If youve worked in the food industry, you get it.

I usually just leave a racist remark on the receipt instead so they have something to put on FB.

As does a fast food worker. What’s the difference?

Never. And I never tip if I am at a restaurant and I order food at the counter and they bring it to my table and that is it.
